    Meow Skateboards review
Let's take a look at MEOW Skateboards, the Vanessa Torres Meowski Mask deck. I ordered the 7.75 looking to go back and revisit a smaller board with my size 8.5 foot. Because it's never the guy getting older and losing a step, it's always the board, ha. If you have read anything I've posted before, you know my passion for the smaller companies and great products. Also, that I push support for the women of skating. With all of that said, the direction to look at either Meow or Hoopla seemed like a

Social Media and the implosion of decent behavior
The more I browse around any of the social media sites the worse it gets. The common courtesy of ANY human opinion is put on trial and usually crucified and burned at the stake for good measure. The ability to have any civil debate/banter seems to have taken a big steamer in cyber-space. Usually resorts to bloody name calling, bullying, and even implied physical harm. What the hell happened around here? I get and rather enjoy we don't all share the same opinions, it's actually taught me a lot

How the Steve Caballero bats deck saved me from suicide
This is about a more personal topic and my connections with not only skateboarding but certain brands and the meaning they carry with me. There are a few things that can tie in specific memories both good and bad, just like a certain song or food. I have such a connection with a couple of items from skateboarding that bring me back to hope and happiness.  The first and most important one is the Stevie Cab teal with red dragons deck.  I remember how I got the board and everything. My mom took my

Here's what's on Tap for August
A few of things on tap for August are reviews for the Florida based Survey Wheels 56mm I recently purchased.  The legend reincarnate 'eS Accel slims I got my hands on and wear testing as we speak. I will also be revisiting the Knowgood Hardware review with updated knowledge and long time(3 years) usage of the product and observations between then and now. Stay tuned as we get this site back in full swing with reviews to go along with my old man ramblings. Remember to hit the connect tab and send
  5. Why I'm doing skate reviews

    Why I'm doing skate reviews
I love reviewing the little guys and helping spread the word on them. When the product is good and driven with passion, I WANT to help spread the word. I'm not huge with a ton of followers on the Blog, but it's decent and it's a starting point. I do want to do the reviews differently now. Not only review the products, but a little back story on the company and people behind it. Helps people get to know that there's more to the item and actually develop a connection with the story. In 23+ years
  6. Support all of Skateboarding, put your money where your mouth spews.

Support all of Skateboarding, put your money where your mouth spews.
Here's my thinking "out loud" and inspired again. What IF all of us talking and pushing for skater owned and the grass roots/underground part of skateboarding started pushing another small part of the industry, representing dedicated passion? Women in skateboarding is more than a novelty and never gets any real love from the industry they love(outside the Buffoni marketing machine of Nike). They don't get the marketing money, the massive board sales, the shops pushing products, crazy demo

PMA and how it has changed me
This is the post content I'm the first person to admit 1000% that I have made awful decisions and have been one of the biggest assholes alive at times in my past. The reality of this and eventually "growing up" made me see things for what they were. While completely terrible and regretful they gave me a choice today. I could let those define me and wear that "scarlet letter" for the rest of my life, or learn from them and change to become better than that. I chose the latter of those two
